What exactly is included in the DIY Website Setup package?
We handle the initial technical setup required to get a WordPress website online. That includes setting up your hosting, connecting or registering your domain, installing WordPress and giving you access to the WordPress administration area. From there, you create the website pages, design, content and images yourself.
Does this package include website design?
No. This package is specifically for people who want to build the website themselves. iGo does not design the pages, choose the layout, write the content or customize the site as part of this package. If you want us to design the website for you, one of our professional website design packages will be a better fit.
Do I need to know how to use WordPress?
You should be comfortable learning WordPress or willing to spend some time working with it. We will provide you with a functioning WordPress installation, but the ongoing design and page-building work is your responsibility.
Is hosting included?
This package includes the setup of an iGo hosting account, but hosting itself is an ongoing service and is billed separately according to the hosting plan you select.
Can you register the domain name for me?
Yes. We can register a new domain for you or connect an existing domain you already own to your hosting account.
Will I have full access to WordPress?
Yes. Once the setup is complete, you will have access to your WordPress administration area so you can create pages, upload images, install content and manage the site.
Can I upgrade to a professionally designed website later?
Absolutely. If you start with the DIY package and later decide you want iGo to design the site, you can move into one of our professional website design packages. Because your hosting and WordPress installation are already in place, we can build from that existing foundation.
Is this a good option for a business website?
It can be, if you are comfortable building the site yourself and your requirements are straightforward. If your business depends heavily on lead generation, branding, SEO, ecommerce or custom functionality, a professionally designed website is usually the better option.
