When the person calls that number or clicks to call from a mobile device, it forwards the call you your number. You’ll get data like:
- Where the call was made
- Date, time of call
- Duration of call
- Caller area code
- Keyword search and CPC spend that lead to the call.
You may be thinking, “that’s great, but what about when they click through to my site”. Google’s got that covered too! You insert a special Javascript code instead of your phone number wherever your phone number appears on your site. For any visitors other than Adwords, it displays your normal phone number. For Adwords visitors it displays the forwarding number. You can then track all phone calls that come in from Pay Per Click!
